Grants of up to £5,000 for community projects benefitting residents in eligible parishes within 6km of  Wryde Croft Wind Farm, Peterborough. Larger grants may be considered on exception.

 Grants are available for charitable projects benefiting local communities in the parishes listed below. Eligible projects may be supported if they demonstrably benefit a material proportion of the local community living in “the area of benefit”- within a 6km radius of the wind farm.

The following parishes are eligible for Wryde Croft Wind Farm grants:

  • Crowland
  • Fleet
  • Gedney Hill
  • Holbeach
  • Parson Drove
  • Sutton St Edmund
  • Thorney
  • Whaplode
  • Wisbech St Mary

 

Examples of Funded Projects

15th Wisbech Scout Group received £2,188 for new camping equipment for their expeditions.

Guyhirn Football Club received £5,000 to replace the current changing facilities by building a brick building to replace the current portakabins and encourage more teams to play including women’s and children’s teams.

Whaplode Drove Badminton Club received £5,000 to improve the lighting in the Badminton and Social Hall by replacing them with LEDs.

Holbeach Drove Chapel received £7,129 to improve their kitchenette in order to provide refreshments for events and social gatherings.

Duke of Bedford Pre-School received £5,000 for outdoor play equipment.

Friends of Holbeach Parks received £7,500 to renovate Carter’s Park in Holbeach with safe play equipment.
