
Grants of up to £5,000 for community projects benefitting residents in eligible parishes near Woolley Hill Wind Farm, Hunts.
Grants are available for charitable projects benefiting local communities in the parishes listed below. Eligible projects may be supported if they demonstrably benefit a material proportion of the local community living in “the area of benefit”.
The following parishes are eligible for Woolley Hill Wind Farm grants:
- Alconbury
- Alconbury Weston
- Barham and Woolley
- Buckworth
- Easton
- Ellington
- Spaldwick
Examples of Funded Projects
Alconbury C of E Primary School received £5,000 to provide an interactive whiteboard and IT equipment for use by the wider community during training and events held in the community room and £2,500 to upgrade the provision of ICT equipment in order to ensure all pupils can receive high quality computing lessons.
Alconbury Parish Council received a £3,500 grant to enhance the children’s playground at Bramble End by installing a small roundabout.
Spaldwick Carpet Bowls Club received £4,050 to provide replacement carpet bowls equipment, scoring frames, and a winding machine.
Alconbury Recreation Field Charity received £2,400 to purchase a new set of full size self weighted goals for use by Alconbury Football teams and £3,000 towards the purchase of a new roller.
Ellington Playing Fields Association received £3,000 towards the purchase of an open walled shelter with benches for public use.
All Saints Church PCC, Buckworth received £3,000 to replace the lead roof on north aisle of Church.
Buckworth Parish Council received £900 to replace old and dangerous scrapped seating, increase the spring, summer and autumn usage and provide extra capacity for larger village events.
Alconburys Youth Club received £1,460 to purchase a number of key items of entertainment and education equipment to ensure the ongoing viability of the Club.
Playtimes Playgroup received £5,000 to replace the main grass area with astro-turf to enable year round use.
Ellington Parish Council received £1,500 to re-roof the village hall.
