Paul spent much of his career with the RSPB in senior PR, comms and campaigning roles, latterly as Director of Communications. He currently works as Head of Strategy at Fellowship, a leading web development agency.
We asked Paul what made him add to his busy workload with a volunteer Trustee role at the Foundation and his motivations were clear – “I wanted to use some of my time to help make a difference to the quality of life in the area I live in” he tells us.
Becoming a trustee is a powerful way to use your skills to make a real difference, and Paul has certainly done that for the Foundation, bringing his marketing and PR expertise to the charity, supporting us through a rebrand and helping us launch our current website.
“Cambridgeshire is vibrant and diverse” Paul goes on to tell us, “but I’ve been surprised to learn how sadly under-resourced the voluntary sector is across our county.” However, being part of the Foundation team that seeks to redress that disparity is one of the best elements of his Trustee role – “seeing how the grants we award impact people’s lives for the better is definitely one of the most rewarding things about being a Trustee with the Foundation” he tells us.
