Are you preparing to submit your grant application? Take a look at our top tips!

1. Include all the information we have asked for and all supporting documents

Everything should be attached to your application and submitted by the deadline. Missing information will cause a delay in processing your application and may result in it being declined.

2. Take extra care to meet the deadline

Unfortunately, late applications will not be considered, even if they are fantastic!

Our standard quarterly deadlines are 23:59pm on 1 February, 1 May, 1 August and 1 November. However, a few of our funds have different deadlines, which are specified on their individual fund pages. If you are applying for a specific fund, please check the application deadline(s).

3. Be prepared to attend an assessment call in the month following the deadline date

If you are a new group to us, you have applied for a large grant (£3,500 and over), or your application requires further clarification, a member of our team will be in touch to arrange an informal assessment call, to discuss any queries we have. Our team has plenty of experience working with local community and voluntary groups and know what the donors expect and want to fund. There may be follow-up tasks from the assessment, either to comply with our procedures, or to provide additional information for specific donors.

Please do make yourself available for assessment calls. It is difficult for the team to present your project at panels if there are gaps in the information we have and it reduces the likelihood of being awarded funding.
