Cambridgeshire Community Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the Medworth Community Fund, distributing up to £200,000 of funding per year. Grants of £5,000 up to £50,000 will be available for non-profit organisations working to enhance the natural environment, as well as health and wellbeing, in communities around Wisbech.
The fund will support projects that benefit those living within a 5km radius of the Medworth Energy from Waste Combined Heat and Power Facility in Wisbech.
Supported projects should deliver meaningful benefits across one or more of three key areas: Community; Social/Health; and Environment.
Viv Atkinson, Deputy CEO at Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, commented,
“We’re excited to open this new funding opportunity for local organisations doing vital work in their communities. Whether it’s improving public spaces, providing youth facilities, promoting health and wellbeing, or protecting our natural environment, this fund will help turn ambitious local ideas into reality.”
The Medworth Community Fund has been made possible by MVV Environment Medworth Ltd.
Applications will be accepted quarterly, with deadlines this year on 1st May for both large and small grants, and 1st August for small grants only.
Local organisations interested in applying can find full details, including an eligibility map and application guidance on the fund page.
Local volunteers needed for funding panel
Cambridgeshire Community Foundation is seeking local residents to join the Medworth Community Fund panel and help recommend projects for funding to meet community needs.
Panel members bring valuable local knowledge to discussions about grant applications, and the role requires approximately 12 hours per year to review applications and attend quarterly panel meetings in Wisbech.
Applicants must be residents of Wisbech or the wider eligible area of the fund. Interviews will be conducted as part of the selection process, and full training will be provided for newly appointed panel members.
To express your interest in the Panel Member role, email viv@cambscf.org.uk or call 01223 410535.
