The Cambridge Building Society has launched the Fund, in partnership with Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, to distribute £100,000 via local charities to help families and individuals have access to the food, heating and other essentials they need this winter.
Grants are awarded for vulnerable families and individuals in communities across Cambridge City, South and East Cambs who are struggling with the cost of living. The Fund will provide fuel, bedding, food, carpets, curtains, white goods, soft furnishings, furniture and help with energy bills through our delivery partners.
Grant recipients must be referred by an organisation – either voluntary sector or local authority – that has assessed the circumstances and can verify that the individual or family are in extreme crisis and in need of immediate assistance.
Repeated or multiple requests for one family or individual are not anticipated as this grant is only intended to help those in extreme and urgent crisis.
