Grants of £1,000-£3,000 are available to groups that are based in Peterborough working to help local young people with a learning disability to access positive activities and opportunities to develop their full potential.
Examples of grants awarded include:
Little Miracles CIO (Peterborough) received £1,000 to support an inclusive summer holiday play scheme for children with disabilities and their carers.
The Froglife Trust received £1,000 to run a scheme supporting 200 young people to take part in positive activities linked to conservation and the environment in their local community.
Beat This CIC received £2,400 to provide specialist equipment for the new community music centre which will be used by people with disabilities or facing disadvantage.
St Michael’s Pre-School received £300 to purchase a range of puppets and train Practitioner’s to support children with special needs (Autism/ADHA) through play
Little Miracles received £5,000 to cover session costs for an increased number of families.
Headway Cambridgeshire received £2,900 to help seven young people to re assess their strengths & skills + advisor training & mentoring.
The Social Group received £350 to cover liability insurance to cover the group activities for a year.
Peterborough Area Downs Syndrome Group received £3,000 towards speech and language therapy for people with Downs Syndrome.
