Peterborough Community Foundation
The Peterborough Community Foundation (PCF) was launched in early 2010. Prior to the formation of PCF, activity in Peterborough under the community foundation banner was delivered through the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation.
In partnership with Peterborough’s own “Secret Millionaire”, Mike Greene, launching the ‘Peterborough Match Fund’. During the match fund period (which is planned for late March to April 2012) any money Peterborough-based charities can raise through the online donations website localgiving will be matched pound for pound, doubling the initial donation (up to £2500 of match per group).
PCF Key Facts:
- Over £360,000 awarded in small grants awarded to fund 298 Peterborough based local projects;
- As well as giving grants of over £360,000 to date, we have built a ring fenced endowed fund for Peterborough of over £140,000;
- Part of the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation.
The Peterborough Community Foundation has secured the support of a number of local businesses (including BGL Group Limited, Perkins, O&H Hampton, Royal Haskoning and Athene Communications) and local business people Mick Leggett, CEO of Cross Keys Housing, and John Bridge OBE, CEO of the local Chamber of Commerce are both trustees of the Foundation.
These local businesses have helped build the Grassroots Endowed Fund For Peterborough which is a ring fenced sum used to make small grants to Peterborough based charitable projects.
Peterborough Community Foundation makes grants to local voluntary and community groups for charitable projects they are undertaking. Local companies, individuals, national and local government make this possible by setting up funds. The grant making process is co-ordinated through this website.
To date over £360,000 has been awarded to Peterborough based groups.

Bifield Social Club were awarded a grant to purchase a TV, Nintendo Wii console and games.
Copeland Social Club were awarded a grant to purchase garden furniture for communal garden area.
Desi Ladies were awarded a grant to purchase food at the Eid and Diwali celebrations.
Hampton Football Club were awarded a grant to purchase kit for a new under 7s football team.
Hartwell Way Allotment & Leisure Gardeners Association to erect a metal lock-up shed for tools etc.
Ken Stimpson Community School were awarded a grant to purchase food for the community café.
Khalsa Cricket Club were awarded a grant for publicity and equipment.
Kurdish Sports and Culture Association were awarded a grant to purchase uniforms and kits.
Morland Court Residents Group were awarded a grant to purchase a monitor, camera and memory card, camcorder and some office consumables.
Nevi-Tober were awarded a grant to purchase IT equipment.
Peterborough Bangladesh Welfare Association UK were awarded a grant to purchase an audio system, computer and printer.
Peterborough Civic Society were awarded a grant to purchase a lap-top and digital projector for the presentations people give to us at our monthly winter talk.
Peterborough Disabled Angling and Sports Club were awarded a grant to fit a handrail around the lake.
Peterborough Interfaith Council were awarded a grant for a trip to London.
Peterborough Rape Crisis Care Group were awarded a grant to train a new group of volunteers.
Peterborough United Women & Girls were awarded a grant towards the costs of the 'Healthy Kicking' project.
Polish Complementary School Parent’s Association in Peterborough were awarded a grant to purchase musical instruments.
Senior Citizens Association Central Ward were awarded a grant to purchase office equipment.
The Acres and Little Northfields Social Club were awarded a grant to purchase hanging baskets, shrubbery and bulbs to decorate the grounds of the sheltered housing scheme.
The Aiming High Group were awarded a grant to purchase a mix of sewing machines and laptops.
Wittering Community Activity Forum were awarded a grant to pay for first aid courses and contribute towards equipment costs.
Young People's Service were awarded a grant to purchase snooker cues, X-Box and accessories, a games table and footballs for a new youth club catering for young people in Fletton and Stanground.
Zimbabwe Peterborough Community were awarded a grant to purchase uniforms and safety clothing i.e. boots, shin pads for the different age group football teams as part of a wider sports.
