The October Fund
The October Fund invites applications of £1,000+ from local voluntary and community organisations based in and around Waterbeach and Landbeach.
The groups can deliver sporting, social, educational or other community activities and the grants can be for running costs or small capital items.
Waterbeach Community Playgroup received £1,268 to replace outside learning resources and purchase additional equipment to aid maths and literacy learning in the outdoor environment.
A Day At The Beach received £1,000 to run a three week long arts, crafts and cultural event that showcases local artists to the surrounding community.
Waterbeach Parish Council received £3,000 to run a community warden scheme for Waterbeach, Landbeach & Chittering to be administered by Age UK for the Parish Council in liaison with a small local committee made up of representatives from each village.
Waterbeach and Landbeach Action for Youth (WAY) received £4,1,46 to enable 45 youth club members supported by a professional artist and local secondary school to enhance a community facility by designing and painting a countryside art mural at local nursery.
Waterbeach Colts Football Club received £462 to purchase a pair of indoor goals to enable football training to continue throughout the winter.
Waterbeach and Landbeach Action for Youth (WAY) received £2,000 towards a buddy scheme for children and young people to help them transition from primary to secondary school.
Waterbeach Community Primary School Parent Teachers Association received £2,500 to construct a canopy to create an outdoor learning environment.
Waterbeach and Landbeach Action for Youth (WAY) received £5,000 to continue the Aspirational Lives Training programme to help young people gain skills and be active members of the community.
Eddie's received £2,120 to construct a shed for outside equipment and to purchase a mobile hoist.
