New chair for the CCF board
02-Nov-2009
Peter Gutteridge has been elected chairman of the board of the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation (CCF). As chairman, Peter leads the Foundation’s board in the areas of funds development, grant-making and strategic planning to ensure that the Foundation meets community needs across Cambridgeshire. Board members also serve as the Foundation’s ambassadors throughout the county.
Peter became a trustee of CCF earlier in the year following his recent retirement from the law firm Hewitsons where he was Senior Partner and specialised in property law. Jane Darlington, CEO of CCF, said that the Foundation would benefit from Peter’s professional legal background as well as Peter’s knowledge of local communities. “I know all the trustees and staff are pleased that Peter has agreed to lead the CCF board and I am looking forward to working with him” she said.
Peter succeeds Allyson Broadhurst who has chaired the CCF board since 2007 and will remain as a trustee. Peter noted “The whole board are appreciative of the effort and support that Allyson has provided as Chair and we are delighted she has agreed to stay as a trustee to continue to help us develop our understanding and support in East Cambridgeshire where Allyson lives and is a District Councillor.”
Peter has lived in Cambridgeshire for most of his life. He is a keen sportsman and has presented the county at both cricket and hockey.
