National Express supports local charities & voluntary groups
04-Jan-2010
National Express East Anglia (NXEA) is supporting the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation with a donation following the company’s annual employee survey where a contribution is made to a local charity for each time a member of staff participates in the survey.
NXEA staff had expressed a wish that local charities should benefit from the company’s generosity and a total of £1,273 is being donated by National Express and shared out between the Community Foundations charities in the region.
Keely Padgin, Area Manager for National Express East Anglia at Cambridge station said, “We’re really pleased to respond to our staff’s request to make donations at a more local level and so the obvious route for us was to work with the Community Foundations in the areas we serve.”
Jane Darlington from CCF said “We are delighted that National Express have again shown their support for local community and voluntary groups by making a donation to us. Under the Grassroots Grant challenge we can double the value of the donation and use the sum to make small grants to some of the many groups that approach us for financial support. On their behalf – thank you!"
