Microsoft Research Limited Fund

Grants up to £5,000 available from the Microsoft Research Limited Fund for charitable projects that:
• Enrich lives of disadvantaged local people through provision of cultural/educational events or experiences
OR
• Improve the local green environment through small scale projects
OR
• Provide support or training to improve the employability of those facing disadvantage
Projects that are open to the public or that make use of computing in their delivery are favourably considered.
In the first instance, please submit an expression of interest form.
The next panel meeting will take place in April 2012 and full applications should be submitted by Friday 16th March. Expressions of interest can be submitted at any time, but please allow enough time to complete your full application by 16th March should you be invited to do so.

Peterborough and District Talking Newspaper Association received a grant to purchase of specific laptop and screen reading software.
Waterbeach and Landbeach Action for Youth (WAY) received a grant towards running twice weekly afternoon advice sessions for young people aged 11-19
Arts and Minds received a grant to fund creative activities and subsidise guest speakers

Advocacy Partners Speaking Up received a grant to fund a weekly Drop-In Information Bar for people with learning disabilities in Cambridge

The Connections Bus Project received a grant to cover the cost of one youth worker on the bus for one night a week for a year
Cambridge Sport Network received a grant to develop a disability sport and art festival for children and adults in Cambridge in May 2011.
Illuminate Community Group received a grant to provide four individuals each with two personal development and life coaching sessions to bring about a fundamental kick start for change
Branching Out received a grant to purchase four digital cameras to record peoples achievements.
Rowan Humberstone Ltd received a grant towards activities taking place as part of the Big Draw event in October 2011.
Cambridge Student Community Action received a grant to provide volunteers to support children who do not speak English as their first language.
STARS Cambridgeshire Children's Bereavement Support Service received a grant to upgrade database.
The Wildlife Trust Cambridge and Peterborough received a grant to purchase waders for a group of young people who will create a board walk to allow easier access around the nature reserve in March.
