Love Food Hate Waste Community Action Fund


In partnership with RECAP, the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation has opened the Love Food Hate Waste Community Action Fund offering grants of between £100 and £500 to voluntary and community groups in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The grants are to fund an event or activity which tries to encourage people to reduce their food waste.
Your activity or event must involve more than 12 people.
Timescale
Applications for a grant are invited until December 2010, although, please note:
- The funding available will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so late applicants may be unsuccessful.
- Your project or event must run between October 2010 and January 2011.
- You must attend an informal workshop (see below) before running your event.
Successful applicants will be required to:
- Attend an informal workshop (approx 2 hours) which will provide the grant recipients with access to the information and support that RECAP can offer with the grant funded project (the first workshops are planned on Saturday 11 Sept 10.30-12.30 at our offices on North/East side of Cambridge and Thursday 7 October (in Huntingdon, exact venue TBC), with possibly a further date in November( venue TBA)
- Monitor the impact of their event/activity – help will be given at the workshop on how this impact can be measured.
- Attend an ‘end of program event' to be arranged by CCF in Feb 2011 (exact date tba).
Successful applicants will receive an email- based newsletter which will share ideas about reducing food waste and news from other funded projects. You will be invited to send pictures and information about your event to be included in this newsletter. Other networking and information sharing ideas will also be developed, including a facebook page.
