Government money on offer

From Sept 2008 to March 2011, CCF is (uniquely in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough) able to offer donors the chance to double the value of any donations made into 'Endowed Fund' with CCF. Endowed Funds are invested to allow the initial capital to grow ( or at least maintained) whilst also producing an annual return to be used for grant making. Endowed Funds therefore provide a long term sustainable source of grant funding.

For the financial years to 31 Mar 2009, 2010 and 2011 there are set targets. In order to ensure that the opportunity to claim the maximum amount to funding on offer for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, local people and businesses are being asked to offer their support.

Progress to date has been excellent in Cambridgeshire with a tremendous response from a range of individuals and businesses, including Mills and Reeve, Microsoft Research and National Express. With the help of these donors, the targets to 31 Mar 2009 and March 2010 have been achieved.

More support is needed from Peterborough to ensure that opportunities are not missed.

The Endowment Challenge is part of the Government's Office of the Third Sector £130 million Grassroots programme to support thousands of voluntary and community groups throughout England. Cambridgeshire Community Foundation won the Government bid to manage the Grassroots Grants and Endowment Challenge in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
