Cheffins Grassroots Endowed Fund

The Cheffins Grassroots Endowed Fund offers small grants to local voluntary and community organisations working to help people in need in or around Cambridge, Ely, St Ives, Newmarket, Haverhill or Saffron Walden.

The following are examples of projects that have beneifted from grants from the Cheffins Fund.

Elysian Riding for the Disabled Association received a grant to purchase a new wide mounting block to enable disabled children to get on a horse.
Haverhill Food Bank received a grant to purchase provisions.
Saffron Walden Talking Newspaper received a grant to contribute to switch to digital or to buy some boom boxes.
Accuro received a grant funds to help with their Saturday club.
Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) received a grant for a Harry Potter themed day for 7 to 11 year olds.
Cambridge & Ely Child Contact Centres received a grant to part fund the Coordinator's salary.
Fledglings received a grant  as a contribution towards their helpline costs offering parents and carers of disabled children and those with special needs, solutions to practical problems of everyday living.
Ellesmere Opportunity Group received a grant to pay for insurance and dial-a-ride services for 3 or 4 families a week.
Highfield Special School received a grant towards paying a music therapist to provide sessions one day a week for a term
Saffron Walden Opportunity Playgroup received a grant  to purchase a basic laptop and some software suitable for young children with special needs and disabilities.
Newmarket Group Riding for the Disabled received a grant to contribute to pony hire, insurance and to purchase specialist equipment (e.g. reins)
Dyspraxia Foundation Parent Support Group (Suffolk) received a grant to fund cycle lessons and anti-bullying training.
St Ives Acorn Cancer Support Group received a grant to sustain our support services to those affected by cancer in the St Ives area
West Anglia Crossroads Young Carers Project in Huntingdonshire received a grant to purchase equipment for use at their Young Carers Groups.
